VivaTech 2026 took place June 17–20 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, with three professional days and a public VivaTech Festival day on Saturday, June 20. The event marked its 10th edition this year.
Over a decade, VivaTech has become a meeting point for European startups, global corporations and policymakers. For media and technology organizations, it offers a useful view of how European priorities — including data protection and responsible AI — are shaping product design.
Responsible AI as a design requirement. European buyers increasingly expect clear documentation of how AI tools handle data and who is accountable for their output. Vendors serving global audiences should plan for those expectations everywhere, not only in Europe.
Sustainability in production. Energy use in streaming, data centers and live events continues to draw attention. Measuring the footprint of a production is becoming part of planning, alongside budget and schedule.
Partnerships over point solutions. Many of the most compelling showcases paired a startup with an established company that provided distribution, data or customers. That model can help media organizations innovate without building everything themselves.
For North American teams, events like VivaTech are a reminder that the most useful ideas often come from outside your usual market. A short, focused delegation can bring back insights that shape the year ahead.
